1. The first human being, ancestor of modern man (Homosephean) was first appeared on this earth around 36000 B.C, who used tools, made up of stone for securing and preparing his daily food and also depended for his livelihood on hunting. He was moving on from place to place (as a nomadic person) in the primary stages of life and later on learned to live in settlements. Thus he laid the foundation and became the architect of modern civilization.

 

 

2. Father of modern history = Herodotus.

 

 

3. The biggest flowers (in size) producing tree= “Puyarimaandi” are grown in Bolivia.

 

 

4. Killing by using “electric chair’’ was first used in America on August 6, 1890.

 

 

5. Soda water: It was first prepared by Dr. Joseph Priestly in the year 1777.

 

 

6. English language: It is presently in use in 60 countries around the world, either as official language of the country or language used for communication (unofficially for business purposes, etc.). 700 million people are able to communicate in English in the entire world.

 

 

7. Last day in the life of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of Indian Nation (January 30, 1948):

  

-He woke up early in the morning, at 3.30 am.

 

-At 9.30 am: He had his principle meals, which consist of:

 


a. Small glass of goat’s milk
 

b. 4 ripened tomatoes

c. Carrot juice.

-Had a discussion (somewhat a little more time) with the then Home minister, Sri Vallabhbai Patel, up to 5.10 pm.

 

 

-Prayer time: Usually, he attends to prayer at sharp 5 pm. But on that fateful day, he was late by 10 minutes.

 

 

-Nathuram Godse, came forcibly to Gandhiji and saluted Gandhiji by keeping palms of both his hands together and also touched Gandhij’s feet and fired 3 rounds with his pistol, from a very close distance and Gandhiji died immediately. Thus Gandhiji was assassinated.

A. The word “dictionary” is derived from the Latin word “diction”, which means “Speaking is an art”.

 

 

B. The world’s first dictionary of 7th B.C. was with “Ashoor Ban pal”, the king of Assyrian kingdom and it was written in “Cuinisam language” and was kept on the Terracotta table.

 

 

C. The first dictionary in English language was published in 1604 A.D. by “Robert Cadre”. The name of that Dictionary was “A table alphabetical of hard usual words”.

 

 

D. The dictionary prepared by “Samuel Johnson” was considered as the standard one and its name is “A dictionary of the English language”.

 

 

E. “The Oxford English dictionary” containing 15,000 pages, took 49 years (prepared in between the period from 1879 to 1928), for its completion. It is regarded as the great wonderful dictionary.
