1. Once in 60 years: A flower plant (in Mauritius country), by name, “Giant Victorian Regis Water Lilies, Tale pat palm” gives rise to flowers, once in 60 years and dies.
 
 
 
 
 
2. Alfred Hitchcock and Psycho: The famous Hollywood movie maker produced a movie, namely “Psycho”, in which there was a death scene in bathroom which created terror among audience. After seeing that horrible incident, many people afraid of even taking shower baths. In that scene “Janet Lee” acted as the “killed woman”, who later on wrote in her autobiography, that she never took shower bath in her life, after acting in that film. Hitchcock took 7 days time to produce that “45 second scene” in the bathroom. The blood that appeared running into the pipe was actually “the chocolate sauce” (not the real blood).

5. A peculiar incident regarding self-respect: Rajasthan people especially tribals are known to do anything to protect their self respect and their beliefs. These communities are known for their integrity and go to any extent to protect their community, forest and animals. Ex. Salman Khan case.Actually, this incident took place around 1160 AD in a state, called Rajasthan, in India. The actual incidence was occurred as follows. There was kingdom, by name “Jaisalmeer kingdom”. “Salam singh” was the chief of the army staff, of that kingdom.

 

 

There was a village called “Kulder” 20 kilometers away from the capital. In those days, there were 84 other villages around the Kulder village. The people residing in those villages belonged to the same community and doing business. There was a beautiful lady in that community, who was seen and liked by the army chief, Salam Singh, who sent a message to the Kulder people that, he was willing to marry that beautiful woman.

 

 

The people who gave utmost importance to their culture and tradition did not agree to that marriage proposal. The army chief became furious and gave an ultimatum that one month grace period would be given to them for accepting his proposal, otherwise, he would marry her by applying force. The villagers discussed the pros and cons among themselves and vacated all the 84 villages one day before the actual deadline day given by the army chief, and left for good.

 

 

The army chief went to Kulder, to see only the empty villages, to his astonishment. He could not trace their whereabouts. Even today, no body knows where they had gone. Almost, it is still a mystery. The tourists go that place, only to see the “Kulder” village without inhabitants. There are so many such folklore about the integrity of Rajasthan people in the Indian history.
 
 
 
 

6. Warner Brothers:The famous Hollywood movie producing company, once searching for a new actor to act as hero in one of their pictures. Jack Warner, one of the producers, saw the footage of the screen test of a new actor and immediately got angry with “Mervin Leroy”, who conducted that screen test and made the following adverse comments, like:

 

 

“Why have you wasted 500 dollars (in those days) on this big monkey (new actor)? Had you not noticed his big ears, before focusing camera on him? His legs and hands are also quite big and face is not good to look at”.

 

 

Believe it or not, later on the same hero became super star in Hollywood cinema field and shined like anything. His name was “Clark Gable”. And people used to call him as “king”.

 

 

7. Longest bridge constructed on the sea:

 

 

It was opened for traffic on 1st May, 2000 in China. Its length is 36 kilometers and unites the two cities “Shanghai and Hyangjha”.

 

 

8. “Tug of war” game in Olympics:

 

 

This game was allowed to play in Olympics from 1900 – 1920 only. Later on it was removed from Olympics.

 

 

 

 9. Salarjung museum:
 
 
The world famous museum situated in Hyderabad city in India. It is having 48000 things of fine arts, 54000 of different varieties of printed books of yester years. These are secured and collected from 41 countries.This museum was established by, the 3rd Salarjung, namely “Nawab Meer Yusuf Alikhan”.
 
 
 

Must see things in Slarjung museum:

 

A. The big clock: It was brought from “Switzerland”. The specialties in it are, one doll (man) comes out for every hour from inside the clock and beats the exact number of hours, that means, the person beats nine times, indicating the time is 9oclock only, and then the doll goes inside. There is another very tiny man (doll) goes on beating the firewood with axe for every second.

 

B. Marble stone statue of “Rebecca”, a female covered her head with a fine transparent cloth.

 

C. Another peculiar statue, on one side it appears as male and on the other side as female,(through mirror one can see the other side simultaneously).

 

 

10. Raga priya (musical lover), a musical orchestra solely managed by the blind, situated in “Chennai” (Madras). The organizer’s name is “Komagan”. Recently, this orchestra conducted a musical program continuously for 50 hours and its name is included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
