Kaun Banega Crorepati is back

Popular Quiz programme Kaun Banega Crorepati is back and Amitabh Bachchan will host KBC-4. No TV programme in Indian history created that much sensation as KBC -1 did. Sony Entertainment channel is once hoping higher TRPs for KBC -4 as Amitabh Bachchan is back. According to media reports, Sony first asked Aamir Khan to host Kaun Banega Crorepati -4 but Aamir rejected the offer as he is busy with schedule. This is for the first time, Sony is broadcasting this programme.

Inspiration for Oscar winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire is also Kaun Banega Crorepati. Anil Kapoor acted as host in that movie.

Due to KBC -4, Sony decided not to broadcast the third season of Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum. There will be no Dus Ka Dum in 2010. We will get more details on KBC -4 soon.

KBC -4 prize money: 1 crore

Schedule of KBC -4: Phone lines will be opened in 1-2 months and programme is expected to start from November.

Kaun Banega Crorepati History:

1. KBC – 1 in 2000: Amitabh Bachchan hosted this sensational programme on Star Plus channel. That was the first time Big B was anchoring a programme on TV and KBC -1 changed fortunes of both Star Plus and Big B. Star Plus never looked back from that year while Amitabh once again returned to limelight from ABC fiasco.

2. KBC -2 in 2005: Even though it is succeeded, it failed to reach KBC -1’s popularity levels and was stopped abruptly due to Amitabh illness.

3. KBC -3 in 2007: Shahrukh Khan hosted programme failed to create magic.

4. KBC -4 in 2010: Amitabh Bachchan will host this popular programme on Sony TV.
