Bad luck: In the month of September, 1885, while this elephant was crossing the railway track, a train dashed this elephant. Both this elephant and the driver of the engine, died on this spot itself. But the word “JUMBO” remained in English language, as a living thing, forever.

In the fateful night of that day, fire broke out first of all in a bakery and continued for three days, and 80 thousand people became homeless. 10,000 houses were gutted in that fire, including famous st. Cathedral. The number of people died is not known. The incident occurred due to the carelessness and incompetence of the city mayor, viz; Thomas Blood worth.

 

 

 

14. A horrible incident: Ajathasatru, famous king of Magadha Empire (India) of around 300 BC, arrested his own father (Bindusara) and kept him in jail and starved him without giving food and the father died in the jail itself.
