  14 women became Chief Ministers in India but most of them in last 20 years. UP Chief Minister Sucheta Kripalani was the first woman CM in India while Sasikala Kakodkar was the first non-congress woman CM in India. Janaki Ramachandran was the first woman Chief Minister in South India.  Sheila Dixit is the longest serving woman CM in India.
